Introduction…

Camp Sit’n Bull was created by the late Roger Giroux.

Roger constructed a unique architectural statement, a work of folk art adjacent to Brown River in Underhill Center, Vermont. He built the lodge and all of its amazing stonework. He was also an outdoor sportsman who loved to hunt, thus the Camp still displays some of his notable collection of wildlife trophies. The 7-foot tall standing bear, stuffed goose, fish plaques, small birds in tree branches suspended above the dining room table along with a gigantic bees’ nest, the leg-hold traps, animal pelts, turkey fans, and the deer-hoof coat hooks are all gone, but the antler racks from deer and moose remain throughout the camp.

It’s time to begin telling the story of the ongoing restoration of this distinctive and historic plot.
